Bloom.

This editorial was born from my frustration with the lack of representation of male, fat bodies in a fashion context.
They are few and far between, and when representation does appear in the industry, for example in fashion shows, it often feels more like a trend than a genuine push for change and inclusion.

I found my match in Matthias.
It took me a year or two before the time felt right to approach him, but when we finally met to discuss ideas, I immediately knew it had been a great decision to approach him about modelling for me.
He loved my concept, and we brought together a team that I am incredibly grateful to have worked with.

From complementary make-up looks by Teresa Scheffl to the luscious outfits Mio Paternoss sourced for this editorial, it all came together beautifully.

Thank you to my wonderful assistant Mona Petter, who truly supported bringing my vision to life, and thank you to Gina Sundara for creating behind the scenes videos.

I ended up choosing “Bloom.” as the title for this editorial due to the definition of the word, meaning something growing and developing towards success, much like getting to witness Matthias truly flourish in front of the camera, despite this being his first time modelling, but also reflecting the delicate feeling of the colour palette and outfits, befitting of the season.

As always, I am so grateful to be able to create spaces where people feel safe enough to prove to themselves how much they are capable of.
