TMLT

Sometimes I get the increasingly rare pleasure of working with people I first collaborated with right at the beginning.
TMLT is an electronic brass band from Upper Austria, formed by a group of old friends. Some have known each other since childhood, others found one another through different musical formations over the years. What connects them is a shared language built on sound, movement, and joy.

TMLT is their passion project, and their steadily growing audience across Austria and Germany speaks for itself. So when they asked if I wanted to film them busking on the streets of Linz, my answer was immediate. Street music lives in the moment, and so does the way I like to work.

Their medleys are impossible to resist. You start moving without realising it, hips and shoulders responding before your head catches up. While filming, I stayed close, listening as much as I was watching, letting their energy set the pace rather than imposing one of my own. I’m less interested in directing than in tuning in, allowing something honest to unfold.

That feeling carried straight into the edit. Every time I returned to the footage, the atmosphere of that afternoon came rushing back. Editing became less about assembling a narrative and more about preserving a mood, a shared pulse, a brief encounter between sound, space, and people passing by. Thank you for inviting me into this moment, and for trusting me to translate your energy into this video.
